About The Island View

The Island View Inn is a beautifully refreshed Bed & Breakfast, restaurant and bar set on the Great North Road in Scremerston, Northumberland — just 4 miles south of the historic walled town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. With stunning views across to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, we offer a warm, relaxed atmosphere and a genuine taste of Northumberland hospitality.

Our 9 comfortable en-suite rooms are designed with guests in mind, ranging from cosy double rooms to spacious family rooms and accessible accommodation. Several rooms enjoy breathtaking coastal views, and we proudly welcome dogs in our two dog-friendly rooms and throughout our bar (please confirm with us that you need a dog friendly room).

Our restaurant is a highlight of any stay. We serve hearty full breakfasts each morning, delicious evening meals using fresh, locally sourced Northumberland produce. Whether you're dining in or grabbing a takeaway, every plate is prepared with care. The bar offers a great selection of drinks, including local ales and spirits.

The Island View is an ideal base for exploring some of the finest attractions in the North East and Scottish Borders — from Alnwick Castle (famously used as Hogwarts), Bamburgh Castle and Seahouses boat trips to the Farne Islands, through to day trips into Edinburgh (under an hour away) and Newcastle. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne, with its priory, castle, beaches and unique tidal causeway, is practically on our doorstep.

The Island View is owned and lovingly managed by Sarah and Simon, who are committed to making every guest's stay as comfortable and memorable as possible.
